Fun facts about Argentina!!


1. Pato is the official national sport of Argentina. It is a combination of polo and basketball. This would be interesting to watch!

2. A major export of Argentina is wine, which means that wine is in abundance and celebrated in this country, so that is definitely enticing for any for who enjoy fine wine. Argentina is one of the leading producers of wines ever since the 16th century and has approximately 1800 wineries currently.

3. Like animated films? The world’s first animated films were made and released in Argentina, by a man named Quirino Cristiani in 1917, which I think is very interesting!

4. Argentine Spanish is referred to as Lumfardo and has larger similitude to Italian than the Mexican Spanish that Americans are accustomed to. Spanish is the official language, but english as well as many others are widely spoken because they have an amazing 97% literacy rate.

5. Argentine women go through the maximum number of plastic surgeries in the world, per person. Argentina is perhaps the world's most looks-conscious country in the world! So it is a very beautiful culture.

6. Argentina means "land of silver." It's name comes from the mineral silver.
